Function
Regulates growth of muscle tissue, bone and teeth, fat and skin. Deals with the 5 senses. Gives you form and weight. Associated with slow pace, steadiness, and practicality.
Air
Is the force behind all motion and is the basis for all energy transfer reactions. Associated Chakra is Heart Chakra. Existence without form.
Function
Provides oxygen to the cells of the body. Governs the breath and movement of blood, thoughts, nerves, and joints. Regulates expansion, contraction, and suppression.
Fire
Governs the transformation of energy. Associated Chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra. Form without substance. Responsible for heat and inflammation in the body.
Function
Regulates digestion, metabolism, and conversion of thoughts and ideas into form. Ability to destruct and reconstruct. Manifests in our body through the heart, small intestine, pericardium, and triple warmer.
Water
The most abundant element in the body that is necessary for life. Associated Chakra is the Sacral Chakra.
Function
Regulates all fluids in the body (blood, urine, sweat, saliva, etc). Hydrates tissues. Governs emotions, flow, and adaptation. Soothes pain and inflammation.
Ether
Empty, hollow spaces within the human body. It is stillness, that which contains and holds. Connects us to spirit and all that is. Associated Chakra is the Throat Chakra.
Function
Allowing change and growth to take place. Creates space for transformation of energy and the cells. Associated with communication and self expression. Allows for an “openness” to receive.
